Welcome to the RBWM Parent Partnership page for Schools
| Recent research has shown that parents and carers value clear open communication with schools and local authorities and where they are not well informed they felt uninvolved and suspicious. Parent Partnership aim to support schools in their work with parents by facilitating good, positive communication. |
The SEN Code of Practice says
“Partnership with parents plays a key role in promoting
a culture of co-operation between parents, schools, local authorities
and others. This is important in enabling children and young
people with SEN to achieve their potential.”
“Parents should be fully involved in the school-based response
for their child, understand the purpose of any intervention or
programme of action, and be told about the parent partnership service
when SEN are identified….Schools should actively seek to
work with their local parent partnership service”
